Assuming the performative dimension as the key to an adequate understanding of Plautus comedies, this paper studies a grammar of the ancient dramatic technique through the performances of the slave Pseudolus, in the same comedy. With this character, that shows a theatrical consciousness, Plautus includes a new concept in the conventions of ‘comic heroism’.Téléchargements
