Abstract

Il contributo analizza il personaggio di Elettra e ed evidenzia la sua sete di vendetta che tuttavia non esclude la tenerezza e il rigore nel seguire le supreme “leggi non scritte” che coesiste con la grande capacità di amare dimostrata tenendo vivo il culto degli affetti familiari. Elettra è la protagonista assoluta ingigantita dal confronto con quanti la circondano grazie alla straordinaria complessità che Sofocle ha voluto darle.

This paper analyzes the character of Electra, highlighting her thirst for revenge, which nonetheless does not exclude tenderness and a strict adherence to the supreme “unwritten laws.” This moral rigor coexists with her profound capacity for love, expressed through her unwavering devotion to family bonds. Electra emerges as the undisputed protagonist of the tragedy, her stature amplified by the contrast with the other characters around her, thanks to the extraordinary complexity that Sophocles intended to bestow upon her.
