Abstract

The essay explores organic practices and imaginaries in a wine terroir in the Chianti Classico, in Tuscany. The ethnography sheds light on how organic styles of production activates agro-ecological innovations and forms of socialization of nature expressed by empirical know-how and representations. These styles redefine the relationships between actors and resources as well as quality and taste values compared to the traditional tipicity markers that have built the local wine prestige.
