This paper explores the personalist perspective on the person and its nature, focusing on relationality – understood as the fundamental structure inherent in the person – which implies an openness to others. This personalist approach should also be applied to ontology, which is often impersonal, thereby posing a challenge for a philosophy that places the person at the center. How can the centrality of the person be reconciled with an ontology that is not impersonal? The answer can be found in an ontology that regards relationship as a central category. From this perspective, we can address today’s challenges, particularly those relating to relationships and the underlying crisis, namely that of thought.
