On a characteristic property of the sphere

Abstract

We are studying a characteristic property of the disc in the Euclidean plane ℝ2 with the help of an intersection property of the semicircles with end-points in the boundary of the disc and a characteristic property of the ball in the Euclidean space ℝ3.
