Résumé

This writing is a more general part of a study on some “key words” tied to our point of view on alterity which don’t appear to be “clear words”. They deal with terms used to conceptualize the differences, terms which are no longer neutral and after full of more or less evident political intentionality. Even the notion of “ethnic group” is presented like fiction and virtually used with a constituent sense creating illusory prospects, consisting in the perception that the human reality is intermittent and segmentary. The work intends to talk over the social structures which have produced the mentioned “sense” by analysing the language which is considered not only the place where the control and exclusion relations crystallize but also place where they are dealt, produced and reproduced. Starting from the general considerations, the concept of “ethnic group” is analyzed since its origin with regard to the use they made of it inside the dominant matters and the political repercussions are examined. It is in this meaning that here a different second reading of the society is proposed: it is characterized by an excessive dynamism and a more particular attention in comparison with syncretism. The proposal is to give up the classifying spirit annnd on the contrary to presuppose an original syncretism which would lead to recognize the new “mestizas” and also to weaken the borders in favour of a greater cultural continuity.
