Abstract

The attitude to systematization and classification represents a way through which we can orientate in the world, sort the chaotic multiplicity of change and direct thought and action, thus constructing a shared horizon of sense. Particularly, subjects with neurodiversity can show a marked attention to detail and a strong inclination to detect coherent patterns allowing for deeper understanding of the complexity of the real and for the planning of a consistent image of the world. Whether it be pattern-thinkers or subjects with enhanced visual memory, the search for a constant reduces the unpredictability of the real, making it possible to understand implicit ambiguous social situations, and to express, behind an apparently meaningless repetitiveness, an outstanding creative potential. Such an awareness requires a profound revision of didactics which focuses attention on the potentialities hidden in vulnerability, aiming at the enhancement of divergent thinking and functioning.
