Résumé

Object of this talk is the variational description by M20_Cicalese1.pngconvergence of the boundary layer phenomenon arising in pair-interaction lattice systems in a bounded set M20_Cicalese2.png. We present several examples in phase transitions, fracture mechanics, dimension reduction and spin systems physics in which it is possible to show that, properly scaling the stored energy, a non vanishing contribution due to the behaviour of the system at the boundary of M20_Cicalese2.png appears.
