The Programmer and the Shaman: Exploring Jung Ji-woo’s Somebody
The article aims to illuminate the distinctive aspects of the Korean series Somebody from its mainstream Western science-fiction counterparts. Two interpretative perspectives are emphasized, focusing on complexity and the collective, respectively. The objective is twofold: to explore the cultural origins of these differences, and to examine the practical implications arising from them, both in East Asia and the West.
