Scattering by a collection of closely spaced parallel infinite cylinders in an absorbing medium is considered in this paper. The incident wave is arbitrarily polarized and propagates at an oblique angle from the axes of the cylinders. The theoretical formulation is developed by utilizing the Hertz potential approach that accounts for the effect of absorption by the host medium and near-field interactions between the cylinders. Analytical solutions are derived for the scattering cross section and intensity distribution in the far-field. Numerical results will be presented to illustrate the influence of absorption by the medium on the scattering properties of a collection of closely-spaced cylinders.
