Abstract

We determine a simple class of exact solutions for the anti-plane shear motion problem of fourth-order elasticity. These exact solutions, computed by reducing the governing equations to an autonomous system of ordinary differential equations, may be used to provide some examples of global existence in time for the Cauchy problem of nonlinear elastodynamic.
