Abstract

This paper compiles an updated checklist of Sicilian (including the circum-Sicilian islets) species of Coccinellidae based on historical bibliographical data along with new Sicilian material collected by the author and other entomologists in the last few decades. A total of 90 species are reported, including new data for many species often rare in Sicily. Nephus (Bipunctatus) bicinctus (Mulsant & Godart 1872); Scymnus (Pullus) impexus Mulsant, 1850, Scymnus (Scymnus) femoralis (Gyllenhal, 1827), Hyperaspis algirica Crotch, 1874, Sospita vigintiduopunctata Linnaeus, 1758, were recorded for the first time from Sicily.
