Living with Images: Trump and the Aestheticization of Politics.
This paper explores contemporary visual culture through the lens of social imaginaries, focusing on how images not only represent but actively produce meaning, affect, and power. Drawing on the works of Fabio La Rocca (Vivere nelle immagini) and Andrea Rabbito (Pictorial Trump), it investigates the immersive, affective, and performative dimensions of the visual, with particular attention to the role of the body as both medium and frame of perception. The political use of images is examined through the case of Donald Trump. Through Andrea Rabbito’s Pictorial Trump, it reveals how visuality reshapes public space, forms of authority, and the dynamics of collective imaginaries in today’s digital media environment
