In his essay ‘Sociology of Nostalgia’ (1979), Fred Davis addresses for the first time a critical reflection on this feeling, framing it through a study of the sociology of emotions. If the nostalgic dimension assumes a central role in everyday life and in contemporary society because it influences the construction and maintenance of individual and collective identity (Cerulo and Pomarico, 2024), it is now possible to investigate the feeling of nostalgia from the imaginary that it is able to construct through media narratives. Therefore, starting from Polidoro's (2017) analysis exploring the three ways in which nostalgia is present within TV series, in this paper we propose a fourth category: the remediation of nostalgia, a process through which the imaginary produced by a specific content for a specific target crosses generational boundaries - thanks to the elasticity of digital media - and renews itself by generating a new, powerful imaginary.
