The aim of this paper is the presentation of two simple transient phenomena in compressible fluids. We show two different time-dependent solutions based on Fourier analysis and obtained for an initial temperature perturbation suddenly applied to a gas, in bounded and unbounded 1D domains. In both cases, the linearized field equations yield a non vanishing velocity field which seems to equilibrate the temperature gradient and it disappears when the temperature reaches the equilibrium state.Downloads
