Entropic Lattice Boltzmann Scheme

In the recent years the entropic version of the lattice Boltzmann method (ELBM) has made proof of significantly enhanced numerical stability due to its compliance with the Boltzmann H-theorem.The comparison with the standard single-time relaxation form of the lattice Boltzmann equation and with a more empirical procedure, shows that ELBM offers higher stability at a moderate price in terms of computational overhead. The benchmark simulation of the two-dimensional lid-driven cavity flow, we used in this work, shows a good agreement with the standard single-time relaxation form of the lattice Boltzmann equation and with literature data.
