In a rational Western world, women who identify with the figure of the witch bear witness to social, cultural and, above all, religious change. Indeed, our era is witnessing a growing range of alternative spiritualities, beliefs and practices, the result of religious pluralism. Witchcraft is no longer ancestral, hidden, taboo, mysterious or even imaginary - it's real for some people. True religiosity, the notion of sacrality is also present in the contemporary witchcraft system. In western society, it is a form of quest for the lost sacred, the essence of which is lacking in the disenchanted daily lives of individuals following the decline of religious institutions.References
